Privacy Policy

The privacy of our visitors and customers is of extreme importance to us. This Privacy Policy document outlines the types of personal information received, collected, used and shared by us when you visit or make a purchase from Teo Joo Guan Horticulture (the “Site”).

1 | PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device.

Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site and information about how you interact with it. Additionally, when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, delivery address, email address, phone number and payment information (including credit card numbers, if applicable).

Offline data may include your name, bank and bank account number if you performed a direct bank transfer transaction. We refer to this information as “Order Information.”

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Order Information.

2 | HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfil any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for delivery, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to:

  • Communicate with you;
  • Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and
  • When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services (eg. Newsletter).

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

3 | SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. We also use Google Analytics to help us understand how our customers use the Site so we can provide relevant content. The information is anonymous and only used for statistical purposes. You can also opt-out of Google Analytics.

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful requests for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

4 | BEHAVIOURAL ADVERTISING

Please note that we do not alter our Site’s data collection and use practices when we see a ‘Do Not Track’ signal from your browser.

6 | CONTACT FORM

Your name and email address are required to submit a contact form or subscribe to periodic newsletters. The information enables us to communicate with you and email marketing material that you allow through newsletter subscription which you can opt to unsubscribe anytime. We do not use your personal information for marketing purpose if you fill up a contact form unless agreed by you.

7 | DATA RETENTION

If you leave a review or a comment on the Site, the content and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up reviews or comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. Your data submission may be checked through by an automated spam detection service.

For users that register an account on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except changing their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

8 | YOUR RIGHTS

If you have an account on the Site site or have left comments, including any data you have provided to us, you can request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

9 | INFORMATION THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA

We may also get information about you from other sources. For example, if you create or log into our account through another service (like Google, Facebook or Twitter), we will receive information from that service (such as your username, basic profile information, and friends’ list) via the authorisation procedures used by that service. The information we receive depends on which services you authorise and any options that are available.

10 | THIRD-PARTY LINKS

Our website may contain links to other websites of interest. Once you leave the Site with these links, we do not have any more control over the other websites. You should consult the respective privacy policies of these third-party sites. Our privacy policy does not apply to, and we cannot control the activities of other websites and advertisers.

11 | DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION

We will not sell or distribute our users’ private personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
