Camellia known as【茶花】(tea plant) is grown as an ornamental plant for its flowers. It is found mainly in the gardens of China and Japan. The colour of the camellia flower varies, but the stamens are always yellow. Camellias require acidic soil that drains well and do not perform well in calcium-rich soil. Rainwater that is naturally lightly acidic can benefit the plant as well.
Most species of camellias require a large amount of water and usually have a rapid growth rate. Young camelia plant needs more water and less of it when it matures. Semi-shaded places and plenty of light are ideal for most camellia varieties to form flower buds. Stay away from direct mid-day sun which may scorch the leaves and bleach the flower colours.
