Magnolia Champaca was previously known as Michelia Champaca, and the English name is Champak. ‘Champaca’ comes from the Sanskrit word ‘Campaka‘. Especially in India, they are used primarily for worship at temples. As the flowers are very fragrant, they are worn on the hair by the females as a beauty ornamental to accentuate their feminism through the scent of the natural perfume. Jean Patou’s famous perfume ‘Joy’ is created from the essential oils of Champaca flowers. The timber of the Champaca plant can be used for woodworking too.
