Stephania Erecta

Stephania is native to eastern and southern Asia and Australia and a genus of flowering plants in the family Menispermaceae. They can grow up to approximately four metres tall with a large, woody caudex. The leaves are arranged spirally on the stem, and are peltate, with the leaf petiole attached near the centre of the leaf. The name Stephania comes from a Greek word, which means “crown” as seen from the anthers crown-like pattern. The tropical nature of the plant thrives on warmth and high humidity.
