Watermelon Peperomia or Watermelon Begonia has another scientific name known as Peperomia Argyreia. As the term denotes, the cute looking plant has leaves assimilating that of a watermelon. If you wonder if the Watermelon Peperomia has any relationship with watermelons or begonias, the Watermelon Peperomia plant is not closely related to both.
The highlight of the term ‘watermelon’ is a description of the oval leaves which have the shape, texture and markings that resemble the fruit. The Peperomia plant can grow up to 20 cm in height. It is a species of flowering plant in the family Piperaceae, native to northern South America, including Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, and Venezuela.
