Citrus Maxima

The pomelo tree or in scientific terms Citrus Maxima or Citrus Grandis is the largest citrus fruit from the family Rutaceae and the primary ancestor of the grapefruit, native to Southeast Asia. The etymology of the word “pomelo” derived from Dutch pompelmoes. The pomelo juice is regarded as delicious, and the rind is used to make preserves or candied. Raw pomelo flesh is 89% water, 10% carbohydrates and 1% protein. It is also significantly rich in vitamin C at 73% of the Daily Value.
